Publication Ethics and Responsibilities
Kertas of Literature and Art Science (KLAS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal maintains a rigorous editorial and peer-review process guided by principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability. Any form of publication malpractice is strictly prohibited, and all necessary measures will be taken to prevent and address unethical behavior.
KLAS serves the scholarly community by publishing original, high-quality work that contributes meaningfully to the fields of literature, art, and related disciplines. We expect our authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere to the highest ethical standards. The journal follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is aligned with best practices for addressing retractions, corrections, and ethical concerns.
Editorial Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s originality, scholarly merit, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Editorial decisions are made impartially, without regard to authors’ race, gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, political beliefs, or institutional affiliation.

Editors must ensure a fair, rigorous, and confidential peer-review process.

Editors must not disclose any manuscript information to anyone outside the publication process.

Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and must not use unpublished materials for personal benefit.

Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the published record, including issuing corrections or retractions as necessary and investigating ethical complaints.
Editorial Board Responsibilities

Board members must respect the confidentiality of manuscript submissions and not disclose or discuss content outside the review process.

They must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from decisions where such conflicts exist.

They are expected to evaluate submissions solely based on academic quality and ensure consistent and transparent editorial practices.
Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers must treat all submissions as confidential and refrain from sharing or discussing manuscripts with others.

Reviews must be objective, respectful, and based on scholarly evidence, providing clear and constructive feedback.

Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and notify the editors of any suspected plagiarism or ethical concerns.

If reviewers are unable to complete their review in a timely manner or recognize a conflict of interest, they must promptly inform the editorial office.

Reviewers must avoid evaluating manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists due to personal or institutional relationships.
Author Responsibilities

Authors must submit original work conducted ethically and in compliance with relevant standards and legal requirements.

Manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.

All contributors must be appropriately credited, and all authors must take collective responsibility for the submitted content.

Copyright and Licensing
By submitting a manuscript to KLAS, authors confirm that the work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Upon acceptance, authors agree to transfer copyright to the publisher. KLAS supports open access publishing, and all articles are published under a Creative Commons license to ensure broad and free dissemination of knowledge.
A copyright transfer form must be completed by the authors upon acceptance.
