Guide for Authors
For Kertas of Multidisciplinary Humanitarian Science (KMHS)
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts via the KMHS online submission system at:
https://kertassci.com/journal/index.php/kmhs/submission
Please use the official KMHS manuscript template. [Click here to download the KMHS Template].
Authors are encouraged to write directly within the template to ensure compliance with formatting standards.
2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

Full Research Articles (3,500–8,000 words, min. 10 pages, ≥20 references)
-
Review Articles (4,000–10,000 words, ≥100 references)
-
Case Reports (1,500–2,000 words, ≥40 references)
3. Manuscript Format and Structure
-
Page: A4, margins 30mm (top/left/right), 25mm (bottom)
-
Format: Single-spaced, single-column, Times New Roman, 12pt
-
Alignment: Justified; all pages numbered
-
Greek characters: Use ‘Symbol’ font
-
Language: Clear, fluent English

4. Title & Author Information
-
Use clear, descriptive titles without abbreviations or formulas.
-
Include full names and institutional affiliations with superscript numerals.
-
The corresponding author must be indicated with an asterisk (*) and provide a complete email and postal address.
5. Abstract and Keywords
-
Abstract: A concise summary of the research objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions.
-
Keywords: 3–6 relevant indexing terms.
6. Optional Elements
-
Highlights: Key points or novel aspects (max 5, 100 characters each).
-
Graphical Abstract: Visual summary (TIFF, EPS, PDF, or MS Office formats; 50 x 130 mm at 96 dpi).
7. Section Guidelines
-
Introduction: Context, relevance, and research objectives.
-
Materials and Methods: Sufficient detail for reproducibility; cite prior methods.
-
Results and Discussion: Integrated section, interpretive and concise.
-
Conclusion: Summarize main contributions.
8. Abbreviations and Units
-
Define all abbreviations at first use.
-
Use SI units; provide SI equivalents if using other systems.
9. Acknowledgements & Funding
State all sources of funding with grant numbers, or include:
“This study was not supported by any grants from funding bodies in the public, private, or not-for-profit sectors.”
10. Conflict of Interest Statement
Disclose any financial or non-financial interests. If none:
“The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”
11. Author Contributions
List each author's contributions using the CRediT taxonomy, e.g.:

12. References Style (IEEE)
-
Use numerical [brackets] in the order of appearance.
-
Include journal articles, books, book chapters, conference papers, patents, theses, and online sources.
-
Use “et al.” for works with more than six authors.
13. Appendices, Figures, and Tables

Appendices: Labeled A, B, etc., e.g., Eq. (A.1), Table A.1

Figures: High resolution (300–600 dpi), captioned below, centered
-
Tables: Editable format, captioned above, numbered sequentially
14. Supplementary Material

Must complement the manuscript; unalterable post-publication
-
Accepted formats: tables, datasets, images, videos
15. Reproduction Permission
Authors must obtain permission for all reused figures/tables. Documentation must be provided at submission.
16. Peer-Review Process

Initial editorial screening for scope and quality
-
Single-blind peer review by at least two reviewers
-
Authors must suggest 3 qualified reviewers with valid institutional email addresses
17. Language & Plagiarism
-
Manuscripts must be written in professional English
-
All submissions are screened with Turnitin for plagiarism
18. Online First Policy
Accepted articles are published online as "Online First" before issue assignment. No post-publication changes are permitted.
19. Self-Citation Policy
Authors should limit self-citations to no more than 5 citations or 20%, whichever is lower.
20. Galley Proofs
Proofs are for correcting typographical errors only and must be returned within 72 hours.
21. Copyright
Authors retain copyright.
KMHS reserves the right to publish and identify KertasSci as the original publisher.
22. Publication Fees
There are no article processing or publication charges. All accepted manuscripts are published free of charge.
23. Length Requirements
All submissions must be a minimum of 10 pages and 3,500 words, excluding references and appendices.

Before submitting, ensure that:
