About KertasSci
A research publishing house and a software studio under one roof. Journals, open resources, conferences and applied engineering, run end to end by the same team.
Who we are
KertasSci began with a straightforward idea: the people who publish research and the people who build the tools researchers use should not sit in separate buildings. We run peer-reviewed journals on Open Journal Systems, and we design and ship the software that supports them.
The work spans three connected areas today. Academic publishing, with full editorial workflow, DOI registration and long-term archiving. Open shared resources that students and researchers can download and adapt freely. And Smart Applications, our software and applied-AI division.
Editorial boards keep complete independence over what they publish. We handle the infrastructure underneath them so that reviewers and authors never have to think about it.
Where we started
KertasSci was founded in Kuala Lumpur, where a small group of editors and engineers set out to run research publishing and applied software together rather than apart. The company is based in Bandar Baru Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
That starting point still shapes the work: close to the institutions we publish for, and practical about what research teams in the region actually need. From there we have delivered systems for national agencies and industry bodies in Malaysia, covering plantation health monitoring, geospatial information systems and financial reporting.

Every engagement follows the same documented process, whether it is a single manuscript moving through peer review or a multi-year platform build: scoping, method agreement, delivery, and a transparent handover.
Deliverables are versioned, reviewable, and yours to keep. The same team stays accountable from the first conversation to the last commit.
